Wills and Estate Planning
It’s never too early to think about estate planning.
MCB Law works sensitively with individuals and their families in the preparation, updating, storage and execution of legal wills.
Writing or updating your will
Spending time to understand your specific needs and wants, our team will help you plan for the future by developing legally enforceable documentation tailored to suit your personal needs. The preparation of an estate often includes the development of a will as well directions for the distribution of any assets after your death. It can also include provision for how you will be cared for, both medically and financially, should you be unable to make your own decisions. Documents to consider include:
- Power of attorney
- Wills (including appointment of executor)
- Superannuation death nominations
- Power of guardianship
- Bequests
The legal advice and guidance provided to you by MCB Law will ensure the prepared documentation accurately reflects your wishes. We will also consider the implications of your plan in order to minimise tax liabilities for your beneficiaries.

Help when someone has died
MCB Law can assist with the execution of estates, providing assistance for the will beneficiaries, as well as guidance in the event of a dispute. Wills usually include an executor named to deal with the estate, often a family member, friend or even the sole beneficiary of the estate. MCB understands that this may be a difficult time for the executor and will work to ensure smooth resolution of all will elements.
When a person has died, MCB Law can assist with a grant of probate or letter of administration. This is required for beneficiaries to access the bank accounts of the deceased and to manage ownership or sale of any property in the name of the deceased. The grant of probate will ensure both the executor and beneficiaries are protected from any others trying to access the property of the deceased.
If you need assistance executing a will or with probate matters, please contact MCB Law.
